Switched my mom's blood pressure pill to the generic and her copay dropped from $85 to $11
My mom has been on the same BP med for a while, and her copay through her plan in Cleveland was running $85 a month at CVS. I asked the pharmacist if there was a generic version of the exact same dose, and she looked it up and said yes, same active ingredient, same strength. We called her doctor and got a new script, and now she pays $11. Same pill, same effect on her numbers, just no brand name on the bottle. Why isn't this the first thing anyone tells you at the counter? Has anyone else had a pharmacist point this out, or did you have to dig for it yourself?
