Compared influencer collabs vs. direct mail for our Nashville launch
Spent $3k on an Instagram influencer with 50k followers and got 12 leads. Dropped $500 on handwritten postcards to local businesses and closed 3 contracts in two weeks. Anyone else find the old school stuff just works better?

ugh I feel this so hard. I mean, it's like everyone's chasing these flashy influencer numbers and forgetting that real people actually read stuff that comes in the mail. That postcard thing you did is genius honestly. I've noticed the same thing with my own stuff - it's like the more personal and direct the outreach is, the better the response. People are just so overwhelmed with online noise that something physical stands out way more. Maybe it's just me but I think we've all gotten a little obsessed with big follower counts when what really matters is who actually opens your message.

@karenb97 you said "people are just so overwhelmed with online noise" and that's exactly right. But I gotta push back a little on something. That postcard thing you mentioned might work for some people but it's not a one size fits all thing. I've seen people waste money on mailers that just got tossed in the trash because they didn't target the right audience or have a clear offer. It's not just about being physical it's about being relevant. If your offline stuff is just as generic as the online noise it'll get ignored too. The real trick is matching the channel to the person you're trying to reach. Some people hate mail. Some people live on Instagram. You gotta meet them where they already are.

Yeah that's a solid point, audience matching is everything.

Friend of mine tried mailers once and they ended up in recycling before noon.
