Debate: Is hiring a $500/mo agency better than doing it myself?
Six months ago I hired an agency in Austin for $500 a month to run my Google Ads. They cut my cost per lead from $38 to $22 in the first 8 weeks. But my friend swears that's just them taking credit for seasonal traffic, and that I could've done the same with a Udemy course and 10 hours a week. I checked the analytics, the trend holds even when I compare year over year. So is the money really buying skill, or am I just paying for confidence? Anyone else seen a clear winner either way, or is it all a gamble?
Ever notice how the same $500 either feels like a steal or a waste depending on who's asking? I had a buddy pay double that for a "guru" who just turned out to be a guy in a basement running the same free templates I could find in an afternoon.
$500 for a basement guy running free templates is wild, but honestly the part that gets me is how he probably had a whole sales funnel and a slick logo, so it looked legit. @allen.quinn your buddy basically paid for the confidence game, not the actual knowledge. The real kicker is that these gurus never show you the part where they got scammed the same way once.
