Put $500 into Facebook ads for my handmade mugs and got zero sales...
I was super skeptical about Facebook ads for my small pottery business, figured they were a scam for big companies only. But after watching a friend's Etsy shop blow up using them I decided to try $500 on a targeted campaign for my Midwest ceramic mugs. Did anyone else have a total flop at first before figuring out the right audience or creative settings?

$500 for zero sales on Midwest mugs? Damn that's brutal.

But isn't that the whole point of testing a market? $500 is a cheap lesson compared to dumping $5,000 into inventory nobody wants. I bet you learned exactly what your audience won't buy, and that's valuable data. Would you rather have found that out after you ordered 500 mugs instead of 50? Sometimes the "failure" tells you more than a small win would.

Honestly the 'cheap lesson' thing only works if you actually learn the right lesson. Spending $500 and getting nothing doesn't tell you if your mugs, your photos, or your targeting were the problem, it just tells you something went wrong somewhere.
