Rant: Dropped $600 on Facebook ads that got me zero sales

Honestly, I thought I was doing everything right. Targeted a local audience in Austin with a solid video ad for my landscaping business. Spent $600 over two weeks and got a bunch of likes but not one single booking. Has anyone else had Facebook ads totally tank like this for local services?

Bought $400 of Facebook ads for my dog walking biz and got 47 likes from people in Argentina somehow.

Man that's brutal, especially when you're putting real money behind it. I ran into the same wall with my pressure washing gig - spent $400 and got a bunch of people clicking "interested" but zero calls. Facebook just seems to be really bad at converting for local service work, like the algorithm doesn't get what you actually need. You ever try Nextdoor or just old school door hangers instead?

Friend of mine tried Nextdoor for his lawn care business and said it was all old ladies asking if he could do their neighbor's yard for free. Door hangers actually got him a few real calls though, way better than the Facebook nonsense he was dealing with.
