Spent $800 on Facebook ads and got zero sales. Here's where I went wrong.

Honestly, I thought I could just throw money at Facebook ads and watch the orders roll in. I spent $800 over two weeks targeting a broad audience for my handmade leather wallets. Turns out, I had no clue about pixel setup or tracking conversions. A friend who runs a local shop in Portland told me I was targeting people who liked hiking, not people who shop for accessories. She showed me her ad account and she spends $300 a month with a 5x return on investment. The difference was she tested three different creative sets and used a specific offer code. Has anyone else burned cash on ads before realizing you need to dial in the tracking and audience first?

My buddy in Austin burned $600 on ads for his t-shirt brand before he figured out Facebook was showing them to people who liked camping. He fixed his pixel and started targeting fans of specific streetwear brands and went from zero to making sales in like two weeks.

Oh man, that's rough but so common. Did you end up changing your whole targeting strategy after that or just fix the pixel and keep the same ad copy?

Wait, camping fans don't buy t-shirts?
