Swapped my old spray-and-pray Facebook ads for narrow lookalike audiences and my cost per lead dropped 40% in two weeks.
I used to just target broad interests and hope for the best, but after reading a case study about a local gym in Austin that cut costs by narrowing really tight, I tried a 1% lookalike off my best customers and suddenly my tiny $500 monthly budget started pulling actual conversions instead of just likes... anyone else seen better results from shrinking your audience instead of expanding it?

Started pulling the exact opposite move of what everyone tells you to do and it worked even better. Instead of going after more people or even tighter lookalikes, I deleted every audience except one tiny 1% seed list and ran everything through a single campaign with automated placements. My cost per lead dropped another 20% on top of the initial 40% because the algorithm stopped splitting its attention across four different audiences. The platform actually figured out who to show my ad to faster when I stopped trying to outsmart it with multiple layers of targeting.

Your 40% drop plus another 20% is wild, might try that myself.

The audacity of that approach is what makes it so interesting honestly. Most people would be terrified to cut that much and then add another 20% drop on top of it. That single 1% seed list idea really shows how much we overcomplicate things sometimes. I respect anyone willing to do the opposite of what feels safe.
