That time I stuffed a local influencer with free pizza and got 40 new clients in a week

Last month I ran a small pizza joint in Cleveland and was stuck on how to get word out. I decided to invite a local food blogger with like 5k followers for a free meal, no strings attached. She posted one Instagram story of her biting into a slice and my phone blew up. By Friday I had 40 new orders from people who tagged her post. I didn't pay her a dime, just gave her a free combo. Has anyone else tried trading free product for a quick shoutout?

For sure, I did the same thing with a local baker last year and it worked like magic. She posted one reel and I got like 20 catering orders the next week, totally worth a free cake.

Did it really roll in that fast though? Seems like a pretty wild return for one free cake, most collabs I see take way more effort to get that kind of response. What was the baker's following like before that reel went up?

Were those 20 orders all new customers or regulars coming back?
