I crashed a 1/4 inch end mill into my vise jaws on a Friday job and had to tell the customer
Was cutting a batch of 6061 brackets on my Shapeoko in the garage last Friday night and forgot to reset my Z zero after a tool change. The end mill buried itself straight into the hardened vise jaw and snapped off clean. I stood there staring at it for a minute, then just texted the customer and told him straight up that his parts would be a day late. He was cool about it, but I still felt like a total rookie. Anyone else got a dumb mistake that ended up costing you a whole weekend?
