A guy I matched with said his ex made him sign a contract about how often they had sex

He was totally serious about it too, said it helped them communicate better, but I unmatched right after he told me that story because who thinks that's a good icebreaker for a first date?

My buddy signed a similar thing with his girlfriend back in 2021. They had a whole spreadsheet with days of the week and times blocked out. It was kinda weird but honestly theyve been together longer than any of my other friends relationships. I feel like people are trying to hack dating like its a video game or something. Everyone wants a system or a contract to make feelings predictable but thats not how it works in real life. You cant spreadsheet your way to a good relationship lol.

Yeah @rileygarcia, that spreadsheet thing sounds pretty wild but I get why people try it. Love is messy and unpredictable, so I dont blame anyone for wanting some kind of map through it. Whatever works for them I guess, even if it looks weird from the outside.

People are acting like signing a contract is some kind of guarantee though. A piece of paper doesn't stop someone from falling out of love or changing their mind six months down the road. It just gives you something to argue about when things get complicated, which they always do. Maybe I'm old fashioned but real relationships handle messy feelings and surprises, not a schedule you printed out. Nobody wins a breakup because they have a signed agreement. It just sounds like extra paperwork for something that's already hard enough without it.
