Hit 100 matches on Hinge and not one led to a second date

Got the little notification last week. A hundred people swiped right. Thought it was a good sign. Turns out it's just a hundred first dates that went nowhere. One guy spent the whole time talking about his pet lizard's diet. Anyone else have a weird milestone that felt more like a warning?

That lizard diet story hits a little too close to home. Maybe @dixon.james is onto something about being pickier, my last date just showed me pictures of his car's new rims.

Remember getting shown a guy's fantasy football draft picks as a date highlight. Started swiping left on anyone whose profile felt like a resume, just facts and no vibe. It thins the herd but saves you from the rim photo guys.

Yeah the resume profiles are brutal. Like cool you work in finance and run marathons okay cool everyone does that. I need to see if you have a personality or if you're just a human shaped collection of achievements. That fantasy football date sounds like a nightmare honestly. Rim photo guys are their own special breed of weird too. Guys who lead with their car photos are telling you exactly what they value and it's not you.

My own Hinge run hit a wall around 80 matches with no real connections. What finally broke the cycle for me was getting super picky about who I actually agreed to meet. I stopped saying yes just because someone was attractive and started only going out if the text chat felt easy and fun for at least a week. It cut my dates way down, but the next three I went on all made it to date number two.
