My cousin in Chicago did something similar with a line about pineapple on pizza. It’s not about the Pop-Tart itself. It’s a quick way to see who has a sense of humor and doesn’t take a dating profile too seriously. That filter probably weeds out the overly stiff people. Getting three dates means it worked for finding people on the same wavelength.
