I finally tried putting my real job in my bio and the matches got way better
For months I just said 'business owner' because I thought 'pest control' would be a turn-off. My match rate was maybe one a week. Last month I changed it to 'I own a pest control company' and added a picture of me in my work shirt. In three weeks, I got seven matches, and three of them specifically said they liked that I had a real, honest job. One woman even joked, 'So you're not afraid of commitment or spiders.' Has anyone else found being super specific about your work actually helps?

My buddy runs a concrete finishing crew and had the same thing happen. He swapped out "construction" for a photo of him smoothing a driveway. People just want to see you're a real person doing real things, you know? It cuts through all the vague online profiles. That honesty about the day-to-day stuff is way more interesting than some fancy title.

Exactly what @cole_flores44 said, just show the actual work. People connect with that way more.
