Just realized I was sending the same opener to every match for 6 months
I was using a generic "hey how was your weekend" on every girl for like half a year until one called me out on it last Tuesday. She screenshotted my exact message from a friend's phone and asked if I just copy paste. Anyone else get humbled like that by a match?

Wait, you mean you were literally copy pasting the same line for HALF a year and nobody called you out sooner? That's actually kind of impressive in a sad way. Look, the fix is pretty simple - just take 30 seconds before you message someone to look at ONE thing in their profile and mention it. Like if they have a dog in a photo, say "cute dog, what breed is it?" instead of "hey how was your weekend." It shows you actually looked and it's way harder for them to screenshot you being lazy. I used to do the same boring opener until I realized girls compare notes all the time with their friends. Now I just keep it stupid simple - a question about something in their pics or bio takes the same amount of effort but looks 10x better.

Nah, I actually think copy pasting works fine if you do it right. The problem isn't the copy paste, it's that your line sucks. I used the same three openers for like two years and dated plenty. The key is picking something that feels natural and fits most profiles, not a generic "hey." Girls compare notes but most of them don't care that much if your message is actually good and not just a one word opener. The dog question gets old too when every guy says the same thing.
