Matched with a guy who sent the same first message to me and my friend
Last month I set up my roommate with Hinge and we both swiped on the same guy. He sent her "your cat looks like my ex" and sent me the exact same line an hour later. We screenshotted both chats and confronted him at a coffee shop in Portland. He admitted he had a spreadsheet with 23 opening lines and rotated them by day of the week. Then he asked if we wanted to see the full list. We left before he could show us, but honestly I'm still curious about what else was on there. Has anyone else caught a copy-paste texter pulling the same stunt?

Wow, a spreadsheet with 23 lines by day of the week is a whole other level of sad, and I say that as someone who once made a color coded list of pizza places to try. This guy basically turned dating into a homework assignment, which is funny until you remember real people are on the other end of those copy pasted lines. The worst part is that "your cat looks like my ex" is not even a good opener, so imagine the other 22 just sitting there in row 5, column B. Not gonna lie, part of me wants that list too, if only to see how bad line number 19 is. But yeah, you and your roommate did the right thing walking out, because nothing good happens after a guy offers to show you his spreadsheet on a first meetup.
