Matched with someone who lived in my building... found out the hard way why that's a disaster

Swiped right on this guy last Tuesday and we hit it off immediately. Talked for like 3 hours straight about our dogs and favorite pizza spots. Then he sends me a pic of his living room and I realize the view out his window is literally my complex's courtyard. Turns out he lives two floors above me. Fast forward to Friday and I'm walking my dog at 7am in sweats, no makeup, and he's right there at the garbage bin in his boxers. We made awkward eye contact and he just nodded and walked away. We haven't messaged since. Has anyone else dealt with matching with someone way too close for comfort?

My cousin Sarah matched with a guy on Hinge and they talked for two weeks before realizing they worked on the SAME floor of the same office building in downtown Denver. Like not even just the same building, but their desks were 50 feet apart. She said they tried the awkward hallway wave thing for a month before one of them finally got transferred to a different project. And now she takes the freight elevator just to avoid him because the main one goes right past his floor. I swear dating apps are just exposing how small our worlds actually are.

Hold up though, I think you might've mixed up your elevator directions a little bit lol. Freight elevators are usually in the back of buildings or near loading docks, not really the kind you'd take just to skip a floor since they're slow as heck. Most office towers have a separate service elevator that everyone actually takes when they want to avoid someone, but that's still technically a passenger elevator, just a different bank of them. Your cousin Sarah's situation sounds brutal though, I can't imagine having to deal with that awkwardness every single day. Honestly the freight elevator thing would probably work better as a story to tell your friends rather than an actual avoidance strategy.
