My sister told me my profile looked like a job application...

She said my photos were all stiff and my bio was just a list of facts, like 'enjoys hiking, works in finance, 32 years old.' I swapped out the suit pic for one of me laughing at a concert last year. I also added a line about my weird talent for guessing movie plots in the first five minutes. Got three matches in a week after months of nothing. Anyone else get told their profile needed more personality?

Totally feel that. My profile used to be the same way, just a boring list. Adding one goofy thing made a huge difference.

Isn't it funny how we all default to writing those boring, safe profiles? We treat them like a resume for dating, listing facts instead of showing who we are. Your sister gave you great advice. People connect with a glimpse of your actual personality, like that movie plot quirk, not just your job title. It makes you seem like a real person to chat with, not just a set of stats. I had a friend who did the same thing, just added one silly photo of him with his terrible baking attempt, and his matches went way up.

What's the one weird thing you'd put in your profile?
