Pro tip: Stop putting 'I love to travel' in your dating profile bio
I swiped for a month in Chicago and saw that exact line in over 60 profiles. It tells me nothing about you. One guy had it, we matched, and his idea of travel was going to the same lake house his family owns every year. That's a vacation, not a personality. Be specific, like 'planning a bike trip in Vermont this fall' or 'trying to find the best tacos in the city.' It starts a real chat. What's a boring line you see way too much?

Used to think it was harmless, but now I see it's just a lazy cliche.

Holy crap yeah, "foodie" is just as bad. My buddy from work told me this story about this girl he matched with who called herself a foodie in her bio. So he takes her to this legit local spot that makes killer ramen from scratch. She takes one bite, makes a face, and says she'd rather go to Olive Garden because she knows what she likes there. He said she ordered the chicken alfredo and complained it wasn't buttery enough. I think people slap labels like that on because they want to sound interesting but they don't actually want to try anything new. Just say you like cheese pizza and move on, at least it's honest.
