The one thing I keep seeing that makes me unmatch right away

Honestly, I've been on Hinge for about 6 months and I keep seeing the same thing. People post group photos where you can't tell which one they are. I matched with a guy last week, we talked for a bit, and then I realized I had no idea which face in his five main pictures was his. It just feels like a basic thing to get right. How are you supposed to feel a connection if you can't even pick them out of a lineup? Has anyone else just given up on profiles like this?

Yeah that's a total deal breaker for me too lol. It just shows a lack of effort right from the start. Like you're asking someone to invest time in you but you can't even make it clear who you are. It feels sneaky almost, like maybe they're hiding something. I just swipe left immediately, it's not worth the mental puzzle.

Group photo roulette is the worst, and @the_anthony is right about it feeling sneaky. My own profile probably has a few bad ones, which is maybe why I'm still single. It's just basic courtesy to show your face.

Remember when everyone used to have those Myspace angles? At least you knew who you were looking at, even if it was just a forehead and an eye. Now it's like playing Where's Waldo but with worse lighting and someone's cousin photobombing every shot. I had a friend who went on a date with the wrong guy from a group photo, no joke.
