My client's Facebook ads got shut down in 2 hours and I had to scramble

I was sitting at my desk in Austin last Tuesday when a client called panicking. Their ad account got flagged for something about misleading claims (like, totally vague). I spent 3 hours on support chat and finally got a human who said the issue was a single word in the headline. We changed 'guaranteed' to 'backed by results' and it went live again the next morning. Has anyone else had an ad get flagged over one tiny word like that?

Yeah I've had that happen too with the word "guaranteed". Facebook's automated system seems to latch onto that one like crazy even if you're just saying something simple. It's like they have a list of trigger words that flag accounts before a human ever looks at it.

You know, I used to think people were overreacting when they said Facebook had some kind of keyword blacklist. I figured it was just bad luck or someone posting something actually sketchy. But seeing how many people report the same thing with words like "guaranteed" or "free" really made me reconsider. It feels pretty obvious now that the system flags certain words without any context at all. I mean, I've had a post get blocked for saying "I guarantee this recipe turns out great" which is harmless. Your point about it triggering before a human sees it makes perfect sense, and I can't argue with that anymore.

Changed "guaranteed" to "proven" once. Same thing happened. System just auto-flags certain words. No context at all. It's dumb but you gotta play their game.
