Tried running Facebook ads for my landscaping business with a $200 budget and got zero leads
I spent two weeks setting up the campaign, targeting homeowners within 10 miles of Columbus, and even used photos from my best jobs, but all I got was 3,000 impressions and no messages or calls, so what am I missing with B2C ad targeting?

Recheck your targeted interests in Facebook's ad manager. Landscaping is super visual, people need to see results. Your photos might be good but the campaign settings could be too broad or narrow. Try retargeting people who already visited your website or engaged with your page. Also make sure your call-to-action button is set to "Send Message" not "Learn More" - learned that one the hard way.

Makes me think how so many small biz owners treat social media ads like a light switch - flip it on and expect magic - when really it's more like tuning a radio dial for each specific town you're trying to reach. You ever notice how the best campaigns always come from people who treated their first few tries as practice instead of expecting perfection?

Tbh that's exactly it. I ran ads for my buddy's bakery and the first three rounds were basically just paying to learn what didn't work. We thought we knew the audience but it turned out moms looking for birthday cakes and college kids wanting late night cookies are two completely different dial settings. Once we stopped trying to get it perfect and just treated each ad set like a little experiment we finally started seeing real results. The winning one ended up being a super low budget test that we just kept tweaking. Ngl most people give up after the first week because they think it's broken when really they just haven't found the right frequency yet.
