I just realized my color palette was way too safe for my new collection
I was working on a spring line for a week, using the same soft pinks and blues I always pick. Then I saw a photo from a street market in Mexico City, full of bright orange, deep purple, and lime green all together. It hit me that my designs felt flat because I was scared of bold color combos. I spent a whole day redoing my mood board with those new, vibrant colors. Has anyone else had a moment where seeing something totally unrelated gave you a design breakthrough?

Totally agree about the brain needing to look elsewhere. It's like your eyes get stuck on one thing and you need a totally new scene to reset them.

Exactly, I go stare at a wall for five minutes.

Ever notice how the best ideas come from stuff that has nothing to do with your project? It's like your brain needs to look at something else to finally see the obvious.

Keep a notebook handy for those random moments. I've solved more problems washing dishes than at my desk.
