I keep seeing the same mistake with the inseam on men's trousers
I was at a tailor in Chicago last month getting a pair of pants hemmed, and the guy pointed out that my old pair had a break that was way too long. He said, 'This looks like you're wearing your dad's pants.' I've started noticing it everywhere now, especially in ready-to-wear lines. The break should just kiss the top of your shoe, not pile up on it. Has anyone else found a brand that actually gets this right off the rack?

You ever notice how some guys have their pants pooling around their ankles? Makes me think of those old photos where everyone's trousers are too long.

@reesej27 nailed it with "always trust the tailor over your own eyes." Sean854 is probably still wandering around thinking his pants fit fine until someone finally told him otherwise. That break pile-up look is basically the leg version of wearing a parachute.

Thought it looked fine until my tailor said the same thing.

Yeah that's the worst. Tailors see stuff we miss. Had a suit jacket that felt okay, but he pointed out the shoulders were bunching up. Cost like 80 bucks to fix, but it went from "fine" to actually fitting right. Always trust the tailor over your own eyes.
