Just had a fabric dye disaster with a custom jacket last month

I was working on a denim jacket in my home studio, trying to get this perfect faded indigo gradient. I mixed the dye bath wrong, and the whole piece came out this weird, splotchy purple instead of blue. I was so bummed, thinking I'd ruined 20 hours of work. I ended up salvaging it by overdyeing it black and adding some intentional bleach spray details, which actually looked pretty cool. Has anyone else turned a major dye mistake into something they liked?

Honestly that sounds more like a happy accident than a real disaster. Tbh most custom work gets its character from those unplanned moments. Ngl I'd probably prefer the black and bleach version anyway.

Wait, did you mean to say black and bleach? I thought the original post was about black and blue.

Actually makes you wonder if the client even wanted blue to begin with. Sometimes people just pick a color without really thinking it through. The bleach version might have been the better idea all along.
