Shoutout to the fabric store clerk who saved my design project

I was trying to make a structured jacket last week and the muslin was just collapsing, felt like a total waste of 3 days. The clerk saw me looking lost, asked what interfacing I was using, and suggested a specific heavy-weight fusible from Pellon. That one tip fixed the whole silhouette. Anyone have a go-to interfacing for heavy linens?

Oh nice, that Pellon stuff is solid. For heavy linen I just use a medium-weight sew-in, keeps the drape from getting too stiff.

Yeah, the medium-weight sew-in is the right call. I've used a lightweight fusible on heavy linen before and it was a mess, bubbled up after the first wash. The sew-in gives it body without that cardboard feel.

My last jacket looked like a sad potato sack before I learned about interfacing.
