Rant: My old shop's trick for stubborn core prints actually worked
We were losing a core every other pour on a big gear pattern until the foreman said to dust the print with powdered graphite instead of parting sand. Has anyone else tried something like that for better release?

Remember how sometimes the weird old fix is the one that actually works? It's like using dish soap for mosquito bites or a pencil tip on a sticky zipper. Makes you wonder what other simple tricks we've lost by always looking for a fancy new solution.

Honestly, I get the charm but I disagree. A lot of those old fixes are just placebos or can make things worse. Like putting butter on a burn, that's terrible advice. We have better stuff now for a reason. Progress isn't always about being fancy, it's about actually working better.

Ugh, totally agree with Tessa. Some old advice is just dangerous. We moved on from butter on burns for a real reason. New stuff works better and that's what matters.

Ha, right? Next thing you know people will be telling us to rub bacon grease on a splinter. I mean sure, some old tricks have a weird science behind them that actually works. But most of them are just what people did when they didn't know any better and had no other option. It's like saying we should go back to using leeches for a headache. Progress isn't about being fancy, it's about stuff that actually heals you without making it worse. Let the old folk wisdom stay in the past with the butter burns and the snake oil.
