Talked to an old timer about how I mix my furan sand
We had a pour last Friday and an older guy I'd never seen before watched me batch my sand and just said 'you're fighting the binder, not working with it.' Got me thinking I've been rushing the mix cycle for months. Any of you guys adjusted your mulling time and seen better results?

Wait, someone actually mixed different grain sizes for their base coat and doubled down on it? I mean, that's just asking for uneven drying and cracking later, idk.

Wait wouldn't the varied sizes actually bind tighter and prevent cracking though lol?
